On February 26, my group had the opportunity to visit one of the most prestigious business schools on the east coast: Northeastern University.  Northeastern is located in Boston, Massachusetts and it has eight colleges and offers undergraduate majors in 65 departments.  We went on three different tours at Northeastern: General Information Tour, International Village Tour and the Athlete Tour.

First, the General Information Tour consisted of a 45-minutes presentation by an admission counselor and a walking tour of campus. The presentation described the different programs and the admission and financial aid process at Northeastern. After the presentation, we were led to the campus tour by one of the Ambassadors where we saw the research areas, residence halls and recreation centers.

Second, the International Village tour included an in-depth walk through the International Village residence. This tour focused on the global aspects of the undergraduate experience at Northeastern and it’s also home for the freshmen honors students. The tour included stops throughout the residence and we also had the chance to visit one of the freshmen rooms.

Finally, the Athlete tour was an in-depth walk through the Fitness Center and the Cabot Center. Additionally, we learned about the different athletic opportunities at Northeastern, whether it is because we would like to continue our favorite sport or learn how to take advantage of the different recreational facilities.

I’m glad I got to visit Northeastern. After the tours, all my doubts about transferring and financial aid were cleared. I honestly had not even thought about Northeastern until this visit. I don’t know if I will actually be able to get in, but maybe I will. It is definitely worth an application.  Visiting a four-year institution gave me the opportunity to picture myself as a student on campus. I just want to be absolutely certain to find the right school for me.
