Tufts is cool! All the prospective and current students, alumni and faculty scream it at the top of their lungs. I have seen alumni from other universities brag about the outstanding academics at their choice school, but never have I seen students getting so electrified when asked a question about Tufts. They wear a huge, fantastic smile and desperately try to get you to become a part of the college and share in their joy. And I confess, they are rather convincing. The school is transparent and seems to have no secrets (that I know of). Tufts is a unique school that seems above all, friendly and welcoming. I aspire to become part of the Tufts comradeship and one day boast about how great my university is to prospective students.
Tufts is a prestigious research university with a small college feel, great faculty, and beautiful suburban campus just miles from Boston. It balances excellent academics and student and faculty interaction with a very diverse and ambitious student body. Tufts University has small classes and encourages students to think. The academic support program is amazing and it is a tight knit community. Graduates are equipped with both academic and social skills necessary in the work force. Most students are interested in their classes and their major, and at the same time invest themselves wholeheartedly in at least one extracurricular activity. Every student has a club, sport, or cause they are passionate about, making the student body interesting and keeping the campus active and alive.
Plain and simple, the people are 100 percent why I would tell anyone to come to Tufts, and why I love it so much. Tufts students are unique. They are quirky, passionate, exciting, diverse, interesting, and come from all over the world. Everyone is smart and loves to learn, but isn’t overly competitive. No one tries to be better than someone else, but instead, strives to be the best they can be. People are passionate about what they believe in and what they do, and it seems like everyone on campus has something they immensely care about. Tufts students embrace their quirks and eccentricities, instead of suppressing them. It is okay to embrace who you are and be yourself. Most of all have fun and a great experience while creating history and achieving your goal.
For me, though, the one thing I love most about the people at Tufts is their friendliness. Without a doubt, people here create a warm and friendly environment, and everyone is open to meeting new people and making new friends.
