My name is Hassaan Chaudhary and I’m majoring in Business Administration in CUNY LaGuardia Community College. It’s my last semester here at LAGCC and I’m planning to transfer to a four-year institution this summer. I chose to go to Bentley University for my Boston trip primarily because it was known for its rigorous Business programs. During our visit to Bentley, I wasn’t alone. I had my partner (who’s also majoring in Business Administration) with me as we both were interested visiting this particular school. The most interesting thing I found about the university was its infrastructure. It really impressed me. Every department was equipped with the latest technology. In addition, this school is suitable for any Business major student. It offers some wonderful programs that can prepare you to compete in the business world. Moreover, it has a history of being a good business school. It wouldn’t be fair if I did not mention here its inimitable mini-stock exchange room (aka trading room). It’s especially designed for students so that they can enhance their research skills and extend their educational goals through innovative and real-world applications. It was heavily embellished with computers and other financial technologies. I have to concede that I haven’t seen such thing before. It was really eye-catching.

On the other hand, the institution has some disadvantages as well. Firstly, the place is too quiet. It takes approximately an hour to get to the school from Boston City. Now this factor also hinges on the person’s desire. Some people want to live in a noise-free environment as it helps them to stay focused on their academic goals. Some people like a city’s hustle and bustle as it keeps them moving and revitalizes them. However, I personally did not like the location. The key information that I want to share with other students is that the school offers a wide range of internships. It gives a chance to students to practice their skills in different organizations. In addition, the college’s admission counselor told me that once you are done with your bachelor’s degree and want to further pursue your education, the outside companies seldom offer you the financial assistance for your Master’s degree.

After visiting Bentley University, I came to know that there are certain factors that one needs to consider when choosing any out-of-state university. The most important thing is what programs the schools offer. One has to pick that school which is suitable to his/her major. Another key factor is the location. Before I went to the Boston trip, I was very interested in applying to Bentley.  However, I have changed my mind. I’m still applying to Bentley, but my interest level isn’t the same as it was before visiting it. So, I would definitely recommend everyone to take a campus tour of the institution that you are interested in attending. Last but not the least, the trip has helped me to a great deal. I was quite perplexed and confused before the trip as I was applying to a slew of schools. But the trip has been magnificent and truly an amazing experience for me. It certainly was very helpful and informative.

Overall, I found Bentley to be quite an interesting place. Students have a myriad of opportunities there so that they can make a bright future for themselves. Wherever we went, people welcomed us with a great vigor. The admission staff was also very pleasant and helpful. The only drawback I could find is that they do not offer any grant or scholarships to international students. American citizens or those people who are green-card holder are eligible to apply for different grants. Apart of this, the campus is beautiful and a perfect spot for business students.
